special day of JOY…..Independence Day!
Happy 4th
of July! Indeed, this is a day to
celebrate and lift our voices in JOYful praise to our Father for our great
nation!

June 1776, representatives of the 13 colonies then fighting in the
revolutionary struggle weighed a resolution that would declare their
independence from Great
Britain. On July 2nd, the Continental
Congress voted in favor of independence, and two days later its delegates
adopted the Declaration of Independence,
a historic document drafted by Thomas Jefferson. From 1776 until the present
day, July 4th has been celebrated as the birth of American independence, with
typical festivities ranging from fireworks, parades and concerts to more casual
family gatherings and barbecues.”
As each of us
celebrates this special day, let’s not forget to shout praises to the Lord for His
goodness and faithfulness. Instead of
focusing on what’s wrong in our country, let’s acknowledge that there is so
much for which to be thankful! And let’s
agree that the best way we can help our nation is to pray! As Psalm 67:1 says: "May God be gracious to us and
bless us and make his face to shine upon us……”
I'm praising the Lord for our country and praying that
we might be blessed with much JOY in the days ahead as we draw closer to Him. Will you join me in that prayer?
