Have you
had your Joy Juice today? Turn on your
JOY lamp so that you can see more clearly and shine for Jesus today!
Can people
see that you’re a Christian? Do they
recognize Jesus radiating through your smile, your countenance, your words and
deeds? A genuine Christian should be a JOY lamp that shines light into our dark
world.
33 “No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a secret place or under a basket, but on a lampstand, that those who come in may see the light. 34 The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness. 35 Therefore take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness.”
Jesus
Christ is our lamp; the eye represents spiritual understanding and insight. One
commentary explains: evil desires make the eye less sensitive and blot out the
light of Christ’s presence. If you have
a hard time seeing God at work in the world and in your life, check your
vision. (Bible footnote in Life
Application)
Let’s ask
God to reveal what is clouding our spiritual vision and blocking The Light of
Jesus. We want to be a good influence on
others, especially those we love and who are looking to us for an example. May we desire to get rid of the log/plank in
our own eyes, so that we can see clearly, allowing Christ to shine His JOY
through us.
Turn on your
JOY lamps and shine “like stars in the universe”.
(Philippians 2:15)
