Have
you had your Joy Juice today? Drinking
in God’s joy is one of the important steps to drawing close to Him.
Do
you feel close to God at this moment? I
didn’t ask if you attend church regularly or ask the blessing before meals
consistently. Being close to God is not
about how busy we are or checking things off our “good Christian” list. When we are close to God, we will think, act,
& speak differently than one who is not close Him. Do you “stand out” in the crowd? Scripture
tells us that we should be “set apart”.
Psalm
4:3 says: “But know that the LORD hath set apart him
that is godly for himself….”
And James 4:8
instructs us to: "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your
hearts, you double-minded."
When we draw near
we must cleanse our hands and purify our hearts. That takes God’s touch on our
lives and our discipline! Charles
Swindoll writes:
“Discipline is training that
corrects and perfects our mental faculties or molds our moral character. Discipline is control gained by enforced
obedience. It is the deliberate cultivation
of inner order. If intimacy is the goal,
discipline is the means to that end.
Beginning
NOW, let’s discipline ourselves toward joy by cleansing our hands, purifying
our hearts and drawing near to God,
