Have
you had your Joy Juice today? If you’re
drinking in the joy of the Lord, your faith will grow stronger!
What
brings joy to your heart? Paul had joy
even though he was a prisoner in a Roman jail.
If we were in the same situation, do you think our words would be as
joyful as Paul’s as he wrote his letter to the Philippians? Paul was overflowing
with joy because he loved the Lord and was thrilled over the Philippian
believers’ spiritual growth.
When
we accept Christ as our Savior, that’s only the beginning of a beautiful,
joy-saturated relationship. Our hearts
should sing with joy in Him. Just as Hannah proclaimed in 1 Samuel 2:1: “My
heart rejoices in the Lord.” And as Mary yielded herself to the Lord to bear
the Messiah, she sang, “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced
in God my Savior.” (Luke 1:46-47)
Do
we burst forth in a joyful song because of our strong faith in God? If not, maybe we aren’t totally committed to
the relationship. When we surrender our will to His, there is truly joy in
believing, joy in serving, joy in walking daily with God. Why would anyone not want to accept this free
gift…the gift of joy?!
Open your hands toward the Father,
release your grip and get ready to receive indescribable joy.
