Have you had your Joy Juice
today? Drink in God’s joy….Jesus did!
It’s
sad to me that some people think to be a Christian you have to be long-faced
and solemn. Some believe that Jesus was
a “man of sorrows and acquainted with grief”…therefore, His followers can’t be
joyful. Oh, my! Have they ever missed it! Sure, Jesus
experienced pain and sorrow, but His focus was on the joy that would come
Hebrews
12:2 says “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher
of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross,
despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
In
the upper room, Jesus said to his disciples: “These things have I spoken to
you, that My joy may remain in you and that your joy may be full.” (John 15:11)
From the lips and heart of Jesus, His message is that JOY is
what He intends for us as Christians, His followers. Not to be joyful is to
grieve the Holy Spirit.
Are
you joyful? Not happy, maybe, but joyful
because of your relationship with a joyful Savior? “Looking ahead to the glories of our heavenly
home is a sure cure for the sorrows of a troubled heart,” writes Warren Wiersbe.
With a heart full of love and joy, Jesus
says:
“Let not your heart be troubled: ye
believe in God, believe also in me.”
John 14:1 KJV
