Have you
had your JOY JUICE today? It’s extra
sweet this time of year!
With
Christmas being only a few short weeks away, many of us have already begun to
purchase gifts for those we love. Gifts
that will be placed under the Christmas tree or given at parties or family
get-togethers. And while it is such a
pleasure to see the smiles of delight on our loved ones’ faces as they open
their gifts, let’s not forget that Jesus is what Christmas is all about.
Our hearts
should be overflowing with joy and gratitude as we read the passage known as
Mary’s song in Luke 1:46 – 55.
And
Mary said:
“My soul
glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has been
mindful of the humble state of his servant.
From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Might One has
done great things for me—holy is his name.”
If we were to
write our own song professing our love for the Lord, would it be filled with
joy…as Mary’s was? Does our soul
glorify the Lord? Does our spirit
rejoice in God our Savior? Mary’s joy stemmed from a heart of servitude
and humility. She was willing to accept her role with graciousness, trusting
that God’s plan was best. That’s why she
was chosen to be the mother of Jesus.
Let’s
follow Mary’s example and sing a song of Christmas joy as we accept God’s plan
for our lives.
