Searching or Serving?

Have you had your Joy Juice today?  Seek it! Drink it! And share it!

Would you classify yourself as one who is searching or serving? Certainly we want to search the scriptures, search for truth and search for God’s plan and purpose for our lives.  But consider the person that searches in the wrong places.  (Isn’t there an old country music song about that?)

Some people look for success in the workplace as a substitute for success God’s way.  There are those who search for material wealth and possessions rather than God’s inheritance for eternity. Many search for fame and fortune….and sadly end their lives empty and heartbroken.

Maybe a question to ask ourselves would be, “Do I search or do I serve?”  With God’s help, we can do BOTH!  We can search God’s heart by reading the Bible and spending time in prayer, seeking His wisdom & plan for our lives.  If the eyes and ears of our hearts are open, then He will show us who and where and when to serve! Serving God leads us to serve others.

There are many ways of serving---dynamic ways and quiet ways. Even something as seemingly small as an encouraging word to someone at just the appropriate time is a way to serve.  Proverbs 15:23 says:

“A person finds joy in giving an apt reply— and how good is a timely word!”

Let’s focus on serving the Lord and sharing His joy with our words, our actions and our kind deeds.
