"O Taste and See" His Joy

Have you had your Joy Juice today?  This fresh batch for the New Year is extra tasty!

O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusts in him.” Psalm 34:8

What verse to hide in our hearts! It’s an open invitation to each of us…to experience the goodness of God’s salvation, His constant love, His continual mercies and His irrepressible joy!

The entire 34th Psalm is a song of gratitude. David was singing praises to God for rescuing him from his fears and troubles.  These words should be an encouragement to each of us! And this is just a foretaste of what’s to come!

God promises redemption.  He has great blessings of joy prepared for those who trust in Him.  Let’s never forget the extent of His love….though we can never quite grasp its enormity! His love is the supreme sacrificial love that He gave (and continues to give) through His Son, Jesus Christ.

My Bible footnote explains: “Taste and see” does not mean “check out God’s credentials.” Instead it is a warm invitation. “Try this; I know you’ll like it!” When we take that first step of obedience in following God, we cannot help discovering that he is good and kind.  When we begin the Christian life, our knowledge of God is partial and incomplete.  As we trust Him daily, we experience how good He is.” (NIV Life Application Bible)

Taste and see that the Lord is good…drink in and enjoy the beauty of His special joy…today and every day
