Enjoy "Newness of Life" in 2017!

            Have you had your Joy Juice today?  It’s a new year and we can anticipate lots of new joy-blessings!

            There is something refreshing about starting over, don’t you think?!  A new year, a new season of life, a new opportunity. We must remember that every new thing may not be wrapped in a beautiful “joy package” at the beginning. However, when we embark on a new journey and ask God to go before us, alongside of us and to fill us with His wisdom….then we will find joy along the path.

            What does the Word of God say about “newness”?  Look at Romans 6:4: 

“Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.” 

            What an encouraging passage! Do we truly experience that “newness of life” that’s promised us through the death and resurrection of Jesus?  It’s our choice.  When we accept Him in our hearts and life….totally….and believe with all our heart, mind and soul, then, we can truly walk in that “newness”.  Nothing will look quite the same and our understanding of God’s love will color our world in a much brighter hue.  Even in the tough times, we will see new joy; through the tears, we will feel His arms of comfort as He catches each tear in His bottle.  Our reactions to chaotic circumstances will be a GOD-confidence that HE is in control.  That’s what “newness” of life in Christ is all about.
