Have
you had your Joy Juice today? If your
heart is filled with joy, then there’s little room for negative clutter.
Many of
us are in the habit of going to church regularly…which is a good thing. But just going to church doesn’t make us
Christians. We may know about Jesus; we
may even know Bible stories that teach great truth. But until we personally come to know Christ
and search for Him with all our hearts (as Deut. 4:29 instructs), then we may have
a “heart problem” and will not grow in our faith.
Priscilla
Shirer writes; “To be single-minded in our search for God, our hearts cannot be
caught up in anything that steals attention from Him. The Lord is not impressed with our seemingly
religious activities and half-hearted approaches to worship. He is concerned with whether the search for
Him finds root in the heart. It’s all
about priorities.”
So,
let’s talk about priorities. Is God
first in your life? Do you joyfully
worship Him? Or is your mind so distracted with the clutter of busyness, that
God just gets the leftovers? On Sunday
mornings, when it’s time to get up and get ready for church, would we prefer to
sleep in? What the first thing on your mind when you wake up each morning?
One
wise pastor said, “A focus on divine order always precedes an infilling of
God’s divine presence. When we want God
to reveal Himself to us, we need to make the things that are important to Him
our priorities as well.”
May we examine our priorities and make
certain that they are modeled after God’s!
