Sing a Carol of Christmas Joy

            Have you had your Joy Juice today?  If you’ve not already done so, it’s time to start drinking in your Christmas recipe of JOY!

            It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!  Do you remember that old song by Johnny Mathis? The tune popped into my mind this morning as I gazed into store windows and observed the outdoor Christmas decorations up and down the streets.  People are beginning to get their homes ready for the upcoming holidays and there is an excitement in the air.

             Let’s be reminded of the lyrics to this Christmas classic. Though some of terminology is “dated”, the joy of the season still rings through in the joyful words of this familiar song!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Ev'rywhere you go;
Take a look in the five and ten glistening once again
With candy canes and silver lanes aglow.
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Toys in ev'ry store
But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be
On your own front door.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas;
Soon the bells will start,
And the thing that will make them ring is the carol that you sing
Right within your heart.

            My question for you, friend, is “Do you have a carol of joy in your heart?”  Christmas time reminds us that we all should have a song of joy, because of what the angel proclaimed in Luke 2:10:  “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”

           Sing about the JOY of Jesus, because…it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas
