Have
you had your Joy Juice today? May we joyfully anticipate spending eternity with
God.
In
Revelation 21: 4-5 we are encouraged with these words:
“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
Does
that fill your joy jug to overflowing and make you want to shout praises to the
Lord! What a picture of paradise! One commentator explains it this way:
“The
‘Holy City’, the new Jerusalem is described as the place where God will ‘wipe
every tear from their eyes’. Forevermore, there will be no death, pain, sorrow
or crying. What a wonderful truth! No matter what you are going through, it’s
not the last word—God has written the final chapter, and it’s about true
fulfillment and eternal joy for those who love him. We do not know as much as we could like, but
it is enough to know that eternity with God will be more wonderful than we
could ever imagine!” (Life Application Study Bible footnote, p. 2331)
May we focus on the “new thing” that is to come
and draw close to God as He prepares our hearts for the joy of eternity.
