Have you had your Joy Juice today?
Do you have plenty of joy stored up in your heart?
Luke says
in Chapter 6, verse 45, “A good man brings good things out of the
good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil
stored up in his heart. For the mouth
speaks what the heart is full of.”
Let’s ask
ourselves…what fills our heart? Is it
anger, resentment, bitterness? Or is
it love, joy, peace and other fruit of
the Spirit? Though none of us is perfect,
some people seem to be able to speak more tactfully and with kindness. Is it
because of what fills their heart? The previous scripture tells us that our
“mouth speaks what the heart is full of!” If we will open our hearts to Jesus….emptying
out the evil thoughts and roots of bitterness…then there will be plenty of room
for His fruit, like love and joy.
Let’s ask
the Lord to turn our juicy words of gossip, our brazen words of bitterness and
our atrocious words of anger into kind morsels of joy which encourage those
around us. We should want to store up
“good” in our heart so that “good” will overflow from our lips at just the
appropriate time…a healing balm like the “oil of joy” spoken of in God’s Word.
May our hearts be clean and pure, filled
with good so that our mouth will speak kindness and blessings of joy.
