Have you
had your Joy Juice today? This day
before Thanksgiving, instead of rushing around in preparation for big meals and
family celebrations, let’s first take a minute to joyfully focus on our blessings.
Psalm
95:1-2 is a great way to start our day:
“Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;
let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before him with
thanksgiving
and extol him with music and song.”
and extol him with music and song.”
Did
you hear it? The word
“THANKSGIVING”?! To many of us
“Thanksgiving” is one day in the year that we set aside to be with family,
share a huge meal and maybe watch ballgames. That IS a blessing! But we should
remember that “thanksgiving” is an attitude of the heart! As I’ve said before
many times, a grateful heart is a joyful heart! Gratitude and joy go
hand-in-hand!
How
can we live out the passage we just read from Psalm 95? We can “sing for joy” by honoring Christ
with a continual song of joy in our hearts….showing His love to others. We can “shout aloud” by sharing the Good
News of His great joy. “Let
us come before him with thanksgiving.”
In our prayers, whether spoken or unspoken, our hearts should express
our gratitude for the abundant blessings and favor which He continually pours
out into our lives and along our path.
May we “extol him” as we sing
our songs of joy and praise! Let’s get ready for an awesome, joyously blessed
Thanksgiving Day!
