Have you had your Joy Juice
today? It’s an uncommon habit that we
all need to pursue!
Susie Larson is a great speaker
& author who has written several books…one of which is entitled The
Uncommon Woman. Susie tells us that to be uncommon is to do what’s
unnatural. “Like streams in the desert,” she says, “the uncommon (person) has
the capacity to find refreshment and be a
source of refreshment no matter where life finds (him)her.
·
Common people blend in with the crowd. Uncommon people stand out.
·
Common people usually don’t have a strong
opinion; they simply agree with others. Uncommon people take a stand for what
they think is right.
·
Common people don’t try to make a difference in
the world around them. Uncommon people
passionately pursue change.
In Romans 12:2 we read: “Do
not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind,
that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and
acceptable and perfect.”
When we are determined to be transformed rather than conformed to the world, we will, indeed,
be different…uncommon people. And that’s
what God wants us to be! He desires that we have an uncommon love for our fellow man; to be uncommon in how we react to others with grace; and uncommon in how genuine joy fills our
hearts and spills over into the lives of others.
May we pray to become “uncommon” Christians who make a joyful
difference in this world by sharing the love and joy of the Lord… uncommonly.
