Have you had your JOY JUICE today? Abundant joy can be yours if you are faithful
to God’s instruction and wait on Him.
According
to one resource, the word “wait” is mentioned over 160 times in the King James
version of the Bible. Do you think God
might know that we’d have a challenge with waiting?
Look at the
passage in Psalm 130:5-7:
“I wait for the LORD, my soul does wait; And in His word do I
hope. My soul waits for the Lord, more than the watchmen for the morning; Indeed, more than the watchmen for
the morning. O Israel,
hope in the LORD; For with the LORD there is lovingkindness, And with Him is
abundant redemption.”
What a beautiful passage of
scripture…and one which holds such powerful truth! We, as God’s children,
should wait expectantly for the Lord to pour out His abundant blessings! Writer
J. Hampton Keathley explains:
“As the watchman waits
for the sun because he knows it is reliable, so the Psalmist waits for the Lord
even more, because he knows the Lord is more reliable than the rising of the
sun. In other words, waiting is fundamentally wrapped up with knowing,
trusting, and believing in the Lord and… in His promises. The ability to wait on the Lord stems from
being confident and focused on who God is and in what God is doing.”
Let's wait expectantly for the Lord and hope for Him to give us much JOY as He pours out His blessings
on us in His perfect timing!
