GREAT JOY!

             Have you had your Joy Juice today?  Focus on the joy of the Lord and you certainly will see Christmas Joy!

            This week we’ve looked for Christmas joy through the eyes of Mary, Joseph, the shepherds and the angels who were present at the first Christmas. Let’s examine the scripture again in Luke 2:10-11:

"But the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.'"

            Great joy….is that what we are supposed to have if we know Jesus?  Yes….great joy!  But remember we have to choose that joy.  We must make a decision to step away from the busyness, the commercialism, the seasonal rat-race and be intentional about experiencing that GREAT JOY!

            Do you think that the shepherds were immediately convinced by the simple words:  “I bring you good news of great joy.”?  At first, they were frightened! The joy came later when they saw more proof!  Isn’t that just like us?  We have to see the proof!

            Well…….aren’t we blessed to KNOW THE PROOF?!  We have the Word of God; we have the truth and proof of His faithfulness through the years; we have JESUS!  We know the rest of the story! And that story explodes with exceeding, abundant, indescribable JOY!

            Let’s tell everyone about the good news of GREAT JOY!  Jesus Christ is Lord!
