Have you had your JOY JUICE today? If so, get ready for some JOY-fillled
thoughts!
Paul says in 2 Cor. 10:5 that we should “take captive every thought
to
make it obedient to Christ.” He
didn’t say, ”Don’t think,” nor did he say, “Take captive some of your thoughts.” He
said to take captive EVERY thought.
In other
words, when a thought pops into our mind, we must analyze it quickly. Is it destructive? selfish? Does it degrade
& tear down… OR does it encourage, build up, edify?
The late
Zig Ziglar was a dynamic motivational speaker that encouraged people to get rid
of their negative thought patterns. He taught that in doing so, attitudes and
lives can be changed! I’m quite certain
that Mr. Ziglar and Paul of the Bible would have been great friends!
Listen to
some quotes from Zig Ziglar:
·
When you choose to be pleasant and positive in
the way you treat others, you have also chosen, in most cases, how you are
going to be treated by others.
·
You can disagree without being disagreeable.
·
To respond is positive, to react is negative.
Zig Ziglar’s
words are great! But God’s Word is the BEST! Scripture tells us to “take those
thoughts captive” and to “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly
things.” (Col
3:2) Let’s fix our thoughts on Jesus…He is willing to cleanse our hearts
and fill us with thoughts of JOY!
Fix your eyes and your
thoughts on the JOY of JESUS!
