Trust Him...JOYfully!

            Have you had your JOY JUICE today?  You don’t have to understand all the details to enJOY its special flavor!

            There are Bible scholars and then there are people like me! :) I don’t profess to know everything I should about the Word of God.  And I certainly don’t understand all the magnificent ways of God.  I think the important thing is that we trust Him with child-like faith…accepting His ways without having to analyze and intellectualize. 

            Now, that doesn’t mean that we should not study the Bible and strive to hide it’s word in our hearts.  That is of utmost importance.  We can never read it too much and certainly the only way to know God’s commandments and instructions is to continually open the Word and dig into it.

            But let’s not get discouraged when we don’t understand every detail.  Only God knows all. And He has told us in Proverbs 3:5-6  “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths. (NKJV)

The ERV (Easy-to-Read Version) says it like this:

⁵ Trust the LORD completely, and don’t depend on your own knowledge. ⁶ With every step you take, think about what he wants, and he will help you go the right way.

            God knows that we can’t possibly understand everything.  That’s why He is there to guide our steps and help us to go the right way. 

When you don’t understand what’s happening in your life, trust God to show you the next step. That’s how to live a life of JOY---trusting in His strength and understanding, instead of your own.
